On the 24th, I had my routine sonogram. We let both kids come so they could be a part of it all. I really wanted to be able to find out the gender but was worried (I don't know why) that we wouldn't be able to see.
First, the baby looked very healthy. There was nothing out of the normal. The kids thought it was pretty cool to watch her move around. She was active the entire time. She was also stubborn. Every time the tech would try to take a look, she had something else in the way. The tech was great and spent extra time trying to find out for us. Finally, she was able to get a really good look. Katherine was happy since she wanted a girl. Joey said he would have liked a boy but is happy with a girl.
We even got a CD with the pictures and some short video clips.

It's a GIRL!
Star Wars Visitors
There are men in Wichita who are very into Star Wars and have some really awesome costumes. They like to volunteer for events and we saw them a few times during the Man/Woman campaign. They contacted me to say they had a few things for Joey and wanted to stop by to see him, so we set it up. I gave Joey a little warning because I was afraid he would flip out if he was surprised but it didn't really help. When they first came in, he hid from them and even started to cry a little. However, once they showed him the huge box of Star Wars stuff they had, he started to come out of his shell. He even did some posing with them. He loves his gifts and plays with them more than I've seen him play with anything for a long time.
Lost 1st Tooth
Lost his first tooth! Since this picture, he has also lost the other one in the middle. They had their dental check-ups right before this and we found out Joey has another cavity (this is #6). It's even more strange that it's in his 6-yr molar which he hasn't had for very long.
4th of July 2012
I'm a little late in posting on my blog, but I'll try to get caught up now.
We were able to spend the entire week of the 4th at the lake house (Sat - Sat). It's so nice to be able to go there and just relax for a week. This was the first time that Joey has been able to get into the lake and he loved it. It was nice to see him playing in the water instead of watching from the boat. He still had to have his chemo shot, but we had Candice give it to him, so it was no problem. We did have to leave Wichita a day later than we would have because we had to have his labs done here on a certain day, but we still had plenty of time at the lake.
It was hot but it didn't seem too bad since we were usually in the water or inside. The exception was the 2 days we spent at Silver Dollar City. The kids hadn't been there in the summer before so it seemed like a different park from what they're used to. I didn't get to ride much of anything, but it was still fun to watch everyone else have fun.
