Progress

There is progress being made on our house.


They are continuing to work on it at a pretty good pace. The framers are busy, so there may be a bit of a delay for the framing to begin.

We have a meeting at Star Lumber this Thursday to pick out counter tops, backsplash, and flooring.

Cruise

Jon and I got home last Sunday from our cruise. It was a great trip. All couples should take trips like this every few years.

Vacation

Jon and I are leaving tomorrow to drive to Galveston and get on a ship for a 5-day cruise to celebrate our 10-yr anniversary (July 26). It will be our first vacation alone since our honeymoon. We are going to Progreso and Cozumel which you can see in this satelite picture.



We've never been away from the kids for this long. They will be staying with my parents, which works out well since we are living here now anyway. They'll take them to Karla's each day, so it shouldn't be too tramatic of a week for them, I hope.

Lot

Here is the floor plan for our house.


We had our meeting with our builder, picked out our stain color, and we have to have the brick picked by Thursday (7/5). I've never really looked at brick before. We drove around town Sunday for about 4 hours just looking at houses. We are going to look at some more tomorrow. They should be digging our basement in the next week or two.

They staked our lot this week. I took a "before" picture. You can't see the stakes because they are both just outside of the camera view - everything in the picture is ours. It's at the end of a cul-de-sac and backs up to Maize Road. We're going to need quite a long fence!
